Dr. Daniel Kelleher DVM
Dr. Daniel Kelleher grew up in Beverly Massachusetts as one of six children. He attended the University of New Hampshire receiving his BS in Animal Science. He went on to obtain his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Michigan State University.
Since then, he has joined the Reproductive Department and has completed training with Minitube of America (formerly MOFA). He is PennHip certified, and USDA accredited. Within reproduction, Dr. Kelleher is especially interested in male infertility. He takes satisfaction working with all breeds but specifically the protection breeds.
Dr. Kelleher joined Broadview in 2018 and became a partner in 2022.
What inspired you to become a veterinarian?
I love working with animals, but also teaching. Being a veterinarian allows me to do both for a great public service. I have always wanted to be a veterinarian, but my first dog Slick inspired me as a child. He was sick and I wanted to make him better!
What is your favorite aspect of practicing veterinary medicine?
My passion is Reproduction. It integrates multiple facets of veterinary medicine including internal medicine, genetics, and surgery. It also allows me to connect the medical science with over-arching breeding goals.
Is there one particular area of veterinary medicine you gravitate towards?
Reproduction is my primary focus, but I do also enjoy dentistry, surgery, and treating our exotic patients.
What is something that you are really proud of?
Joining Broadview in 2018 and having my son in 2021. These are 2 separate events, but they both expanded my family!
What is one of your goals at Broadview?
Eventually expand my breeding experiences and breed Doberman Pinschers.
What pets do you currently have?
I have 2 Boston Terriers named Betty and Rosie, 2 cats named Trout and Dee-Dee, a Doberman Pincher named Lennox, and 8 chickens.
What extracurricular activities do you enjoy?
I love fly fishing, skiing, and archery. I also love hockey and play in a men’s league.
Emilie Rabideau, DVM (Medical Director)
Dr. Emilie Rabideau grew up in Rhode Island before attending the University of Massachusetts – Amherst for her pre-vet degree. She then attended St. George’s University in the West Indies where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree before returning locally to New Hampshire to start practicing medicine.
She joined the Broadview team in the fall of 2021.
What inspired you to become a veterinarian?
I have wanted to work with animals since a very young age. Over the years, I grew a passion for all science as well as a deep care for people, so veterinary medicine made total sense for me.
What is your favorite aspect of practicing veterinary medicine?
I love talking to clients and educating them and feeling the unconditional love people have for their pets. This is especially true when I am discussing quality of life and end of life decisions with my clients. People and animals have such a strong bond, I love witnessing this.
Is there one particular area of veterinary medicine you gravitate towards?
I currently enjoy surgery, urgent care, and in-patient care as well as end of life (hospice) care.
What is something that you are really proud of?
While living in Grenada, I participated in leatherback sea turtle research and conservation. At night, we would watch mothers lay eggs, count, measure, and relocate nests when necessary.
What is one of your goals at Broadview?
I am always looking for ways to improve my in-patient care. I aim for all my clients to feel comfortable creating treatment plans with me, knowing how deeply I care about my patients.
What pets do you currently have?
I have 2 cats named Mango and Bean and a Pit/Lab mix named Ziti. My 3 girls are my entire world!
What extracurricular activities do you enjoy?
I enjoy hiking, skiing, campfires with friends, exploring local breweries and restaurants, and traveling. I am passionate about volunteering and love how involved Broadview is with the community.
Heather Berry, DVM
Dr. Berry grew up in Massachusetts and moved in New Hampshire after graduating from veterinary school. Dr. Berry has always loved science and animals, so it was a natural progression for her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She is a graduate of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2001.
Dr Berry gained experience at clinics along the seacoast before settling in the Portsmouth area, and joined our Broadview team in 2015
An accomplished artist, Dr. Berry is a member of the Pastel Society of New Hampshire and Seacoast Artist Association. Her painting of a Yorkshire Terrier puppy can be seen on the August 2015 cover of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
What inspired you to become a veterinarian?
My father was a 5th grade science teacher and was always supportive and inspiring.
What is your favorite aspect of practicing veterinary medicine?
My favorite aspect of practicing veterinary medicine is being able to use my knowledge to investigate cases, solve problems, and to work as a team.
Is there one particular area of veterinary medicine you gravitate towards?
I have a special interest in diagnostic ultrasound, which is a skill utilized in theriogenology.
What is something that you are really proud of?
Climbing some impressive and gorgeous mountains in our National Parks.
What is one of your goals at Broadview?
One of my goals is to foster and help expand our reproductive services department.
Who do you share your life with?
My husband, my son, and my daughter.
What pets do you currently have?
I have a Labrador mix named Pearl, and a fluffy cat named Barry.
What extracurricular activities do you enjoy?
I love to paint, especially portraits of pets, people, and nature. I also enjoy being outside, running, and hiking.
Allia Connolly, DVM
I was born and raised in Westford, Massachusetts. I am the youngest in my family and have two older brothers. I attended Saint Anselm College for undergrad and studied Natural Science while playing Division-II Field Hockey on scholarship. I graduated in 2018. I then worked in the biopharmaceutical industry while applying to veterinary school. I attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts & Nevis. My clinical studies were completed at the lowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. I graduated in 2023. After graduating, I worked for a year and half at a mixed-animal hospital in central NH.
What inspired you to become a veterinarian?
I have always loved animals for as long as I can remember. The defining moment was when my uncle, a veterinarian, performed life-saving surgery on my childhood dog in the middle of the night. That experience solidified my desire to become a veterinarian, and he has guided me as a mentor ever since.
What is your favorite aspect of practicing veterinary medicine?
Every day is different, which is one of my favorite parts of the job. I love the mix of cases and species, and I enjoy getting to know new patients while building strong connections with their owners.
Is there one particular area of veterinary medicine you gravitate towards?
My interests include soft tissue surgery and dentistry, and I’m also drawn to the fast-paced nature of urgent care.
What is something that you are really proud of?
I assisted with a gastroscopy research project at Ross University that evaluated our donkey herd for gastric ulcer prevalence in relation to herd management, environmental stressors, and husbandry practices.
What is one of your goals at Broadview?
I would like to expand on my surgical experience and knowledge.
What pets do you currently have?
I have two Samoyeds, Yukon and Goose, an uncle-nephew duo who are constant companions and a joy to be around.
What extracurricular activities do you enjoy?
I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible by playing golf, hiking with my dogs or snowboarding in the winter. I also enjoy cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Brooke Johnson, DVM
Dr. Johnson was born and raised near Concord, NH. She moved out to Indiana to complete her undergraduate degree at Purdue University, where she majored in biology and minored in animal science. She continued her education at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine to obtain her doctorate degree. Throughout undergrad and veterinary school, she continued to gain veterinary experience working as an assistant in the fields of veterinary medicine, radiation oncology, and anesthesia.
What inspired you to become a veterinarian?
Growing up, I always had an affinity for animals. Throughout high school I volunteered at a rescue where they would rehabilitate dogs, cats, and horses. I loved seeing the difference veterinary medicine could make for animals.
What is your favorite aspect of practicing veterinary medicine?
I love witnessing the human animal bond. I also love the preventative aspect of veterinary medicine, helping to give animals longer, and healthier lives.
Is there one particular area of veterinary medicine you gravitate towards?
There are many things I love about veterinary medicine, but I love internal medicine and oncology the most.
What is something that you are really proud of?
I am really proud of making my dream of becoming a veterinarian come to fruition.
What is one of your goals at Broadview?
My goal is to continue my education. I want to continue to learn from my colleagues and stay current with the newest medicine.
Who do you share your life with?
My pup Deon.
What pets do you currently have?
I have a black lab named Deon and a crusted gecko named Yoshi.
What extracurricular activities do you enjoy?
I love spending time with my friends and family, hiking with my pup, and spending time by the water.
