What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary Room Technician, you’ll help create a positive, compassionate experience for every patient and client who walks through our doors.

You’ll work closely with our veterinarians and medical team to support appointments, provide hands-on patient care, and keep our hospital running smoothly.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Welcoming patients and clients into exam rooms and helping them feel comfortable
• Obtaining patient histories and accurately documenting medical information
• Assisting veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Safely and compassionately handling and restraining patients
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples
• Administering vaccines and routine treatments as trained and permitted
• Preparing and filling prescriptions under appropriate veterinary supervision
• Assisting with diagnostic testing and imaging
• Monitoring and supporting hospitalized patients
• Preparing, cleaning, and maintaining exam rooms and treatment areas
• Educating clients on preventive care, treatment recommendations, and follow-up instructions
• Communicating effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and fellow team members
• Providing compassionate support to clients during both routine and emotionally challenging visits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous customer service experience
• Professional animal handling experience in a veterinary hospital, animal shelter or rescue, doggy daycare, boarding facility, grooming salon, or similar animal care environment
• Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and coworkers
• Willingness to learn veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and clinical skills

Previous veterinary hospital experience is preferred, but not required!

We recognize that great veterinary team members come from a variety of professional animal care backgrounds. If you have hands-on animal handling experience, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to learn, we’d love to hear from you!

New to Veterinary Medicine? That’s Okay!

Some of our most valuable team members began their careers in other animal care environments.

While professional animal handling experience is important for this position, you don’t need to know everything about veterinary medicine on day one.

We’ll help you develop the knowledge, confidence, and technical skills needed to succeed through hands-on training, mentorship, and support from experienced colleagues.

We’re looking for the right person, not someone who already knows it all!
